This June marked a special occasion for A-Plan Insurance, as we began our 60th Birthday celebrations! In 1963, we opened our doors for the very first time, helping our customers get great value on their home, motor, travel, life and pet insurance, plus much more.
And now, six decades on, we’ve got over 100 local branches celebrating this major milestone in style, alongside our amazing clients. Without further ado, let’s take a look at the branch birthday bashes!
A-Plan Wimbledon bowled over by supporters
It’s been a busy few weeks for our Wimbledon branch, with 60th celebrations and the matter of a rather famous tennis tournament to prepare for! The branch held an A-Plan birthday party, inviting local schools around Wimbledon and Merton to celebrate at the local bowls club, which the branch sponsors.
Branch Manager Louise Knowles said: “As part of our #AllOfUs pledge to get out into the community, on Tuesday we sponsored and attended the Merton schools bowls competition at West Wimbledon Bowls Club alongside the Mayor and other prestigious people from the bowls community.
“I even got to wear the President’s blazer and ‘chain of office’ and we had a special mention on www.bowlssurrey.co.uk.
“The kids had a great day, with Merton School being crowned the overall winners, but all participants received a medallion from the Mayor, alongside an A-Plan goodie bag!”
A-Plan Tooting’s terrific trike
Making the most of the sunshine was the goal in Tooting, where the team booked a traditional ice cream tricycle and invited the local community to celebrate over a cone of vanilla clotted cream.
It went down a treat, by the looks of the queue. You can’t top that!
Getting to know you at A-Plan Northampton
Though a lot has changed since 1963, one important thing has remained the same – our commitment to our clients. That’s why our advisors are always here for a friendly chat, whether it’s about insurance or anything else!
Here in Northampton, Lewis Ellis is joined by Gerry, who’s a regular visitor to the branch, always filling the team in on the gossip from the local golf course.
Said Lewis: “Being on the high-street and part of our community is what makes A-Plan different. A simple wave through our window, a cup of tea or coffee, or a simple chat about our client’s lives is what makes us the best, we really care. Happy 60 years A-Plan and many more to come!”
A-Plan Eastleigh’s blast from the past
As well as our 60th birthday, some of our branches are also celebrating individual milestones, including A-Plan Eastleigh, which has been open for a fantastic 30 years.
Damon Simmons (Centre Manager) and Lee Webber (Claims Manager) both started with A-Plan in 1999 and are still going strong today. Here they are pictured in 2000, and again in 2023!
Balloon’s a-plenty at A-Plan Bletchley
The team at Bletchley went all out with decorations in the branch to celebrate our big 60th!
The team contacted their local party store Partyrama to create this brilliant balloon garland with personalised balloon.
Katie Fairhurst-Groethe said: “We are thrilled with how it looks and are excited to be able to use a local company. We have recently launched commercial insurance from our branch so it’s these kinds of opportunities that are crucial for getting our name out to local businesses.”
More than a baker’s dozen at A-Plan Bath
What’s better than cake? Well, how about free cake!
To celebrate our diamond anniversary, A-Plan branch teamed up with local bakery Abbie’s Cupcakes to giveaway 60 A-Plan cupcakes.
A-Plan’s Birthday Competition sees thousands of entries
To give back to our amazing clients, who have supported us every step of the way on our 60-year journey, we offered the chance to win £2,000 in either holiday vouchers or cash.
